Next Folk Art Angel???

I am considering pausing my current project (Summer Fairy) to start another Folk Art Angel. I need to have at least 4 done by Christmas. Plus they are small and fun :-) Before I start I need to get some Kreinik Citron.... or maybe I will just use my Kreinik Gold. Hmmmmmmm...

Church is tonight so I probably won't get much cross stitch done anyway. I like Wednesday church but it sure eats up the whole night :-)

Happy Stitching

Chris

How did you start cross stitching? I can't believe you started with such a hard project. But you are doing very very well! Sherry

Well, my wife actually got me started. She bought a cross stitch pillowcase project. (she actually doesn't cross titch but she is incredible supportive of me) It had cross stitches and lazy daisies on it. I did part of this but got bored. The Men's group at church challenged me to pick up a hobby so the wife and I stopped by Mindy's at 5th St. public market in Eugene (great cross stitch place). The clerk said "you should try counted cross stitch". I started with a very hard pattern..."Guardian Angel" from Lavender and Lace. (2 over 2 on 32 count linen). I fell in love with those silly little cross stitches and beautiful projects like angels, fairies and maybe some samplers :-). How about you Sherry, how did you get started?

No harm in pausing SF - do you have a deadline for her or is she purely for enjoyment's sake? If you want the angels for Christmas, then you might want to get cracking *wink*

If you're trying to get supplies that your LNS don't have, I get most of mine online from123stitch. Their service is excellent and there are very few things they don't stock.

Well... I started the angel in the top right corner of the picture on the right side of my blog. She has a blue & yellow dress and she is holding a candle. I now have 3 projects going at the same time! 23 more and I will be an official cross stitcher ;-)
