Finishes in 2011 - New project update

Well I finished the last Folk Art Angel last night. That means my only finishes for 2011 are those 4 angels. In all fairness I only picked up cross stitch in May. That's the best excuse I have for not being more prolific.

The last angel picture is here...

So what is special about my little angel? I am glad you asked that. She has Satin white and grey details on her dress and satin wings. I am sooooo glad I did that. You can't see it in the pciture but the satin really shines. The "French Knots" (wreath, eyes, choir stole and shoes) are actually 3 simple overhand knots. I tie the triple knot right in the middle of my floss and then thread the needle leaving the knot as the tail and stitch it. Works great but it really wastes floss.

Closer up....

As promised I started Swirling Peacock...

I can't wait to get more stitching done on her. My DW has been a stitching widow lately so I am going to take a little break :-)

Happy Stitching and Happy New Year!!!

Go Ducks!!!

Chris

I think you had a great year stitching! I love your latest finish. And your new start is going to be awesome when finished. I'll be checking back for more progress. You got a lot of great stash too! Happy stitching for 2012!
